Team 302 consists of six main sub-teams: Animation, Business, CAD, Electrical, Fabrication, and Programming. Each team has different responsibilities, and tasks each year. For more information about any of the sub-teams, visit their homepages by selecting them from above. We are a very busy team each year. Our season, which typically runs from January to April, is a lot of fun. All of our sub-teams are hard at work on their respective tasks. Each sub-team however is not limited strictly to their area of expertise. They are free to explore the other aspects of robotics, and help out the other sub-teams, just as long as their sub-team's tasks are complete. Below is a brief description of each sub-team.
- Animation: Responsible for creating a 30-second animation based on different guidelines FIRST publishes every year
- Business: Manages team finances, attracts sponsors, registers for regionals, schedules hotels, etc.
- CAD: Creates and tests prototypes, designs every component on the robot using Autodesk Inventor software
- Electrical: Installs motors, interfaces, and computers on the robot; also creates the driver's controllers
- Fabrication: Constructs robot components, run the machines, assemble and maintain the robot at competitions
- Programming: Codes the robot software, which actually brings the robot to life; also codes the 15-second autonomous period at the beginning of each match
If you're looking for this year's award submissions, they are available on their respective Sub-Team's page above. Currently, we have our CAD, Animation, and Entrepreneurship award submissions published.
